    Day 1: Panama City Wonders

From the moment you step out, the energy of Panama City pulls you in: lively streets, modern towers, history woven into every corner. Today is all about diving into the city’s heart, and there’s no better place to start than the Miraflores Locks Museum. With your private guide leading the way, you get the inside scoop on one of the world’s greatest engineering marvels. The numbers, the stories, the sheer scale of it all;  it’s mind-blowing. Then, you step outside, and there it is. A massive cargo ship inches through the locks, guided with absolute precision. Watching it glide past, so close you could almost reach out and touch it, is nothing short of mesmerizing.

By now, you’ve worked up an appetite, and lunch is anything but ordinary. At Sabroso Panamá, you'll be greeted by bright colors, sweeping views of the city and sea, music in the air, and the smell of something amazing from the kitchen. We're talking real Panamanian flavors, recipes passed down for generations, native ingredients, that deep, home-cooked kind of comfort. The warm staff will treat you like you’ve been coming here for years. This lunch is not included in the price of the tour, but it might just be the meal you’ll be talking about long after the trip is over.

    Day 2: The Teak Trail

The city fades behind you as the road stretches ahead, winding through Panama’s countryside. The early morning light casts a golden glow over rolling hills, and you settle in for the ride; 3.5 hours of changing landscapes, each more stunning than the last. Excitement builds with every mile.

Somewhere along the way, you pause for an included picnic lunch:  fresh sandwiches, snacks, ice-cold drinks. A simple meal, made perfect by the setting. Then, it’s back on the road, deeper into the heart of the country, until you reach the Torti Plantation.

From here, the real adventure begins. You climb onto trucks that rumble into the plantation, carrying you into the world of teak. Towering trees line the path, their canopies filtering the sunlight, the scent of earth and wood filling the air. This is a chance to walk through an investment in the making, to see firsthand why teak is called a “money tree.”

Wear comfy shoes. There will be rugged terrain, and you’ll want to take your time, breathing it all in.

While you're here, the past two days swirl in your mind: the landscapes, the teak trees, the pulse of the city.

And as you take that last sip, you know one thing for sure: Panama has a way of staying with you.

This isn’t your typical tour. You’re not just ticking places off a list: you’re stepping into an opportunity. Out in the Torti teak plantation, the numbers and market trends fade into the background, replaced by something real. You’re walking through rows of towering trees, their future value growing right in front of you. This is what investing looks like: steady, sustainable, built to last.

Teak is a strong market, a chance to align profit with purpose, to invest in something that gives back; to the land, to the future, to you. And while you could read about it in reports, nothing compares to standing here, feeling the earth beneath your feet, surrounded by the quiet confidence of trees that will be worth more tomorrow than they are today.

So, the question isn’t just why invest in teak? It’s why not?

I thoroughly enjoyed the Nicaragua Discovery Tour. The itinerary was great, but it was the time spent with the people that made the experience so special. I especially loved our time at Gran Pacifica, and made the decision to purchase. I've been back since and felt completely validated in my decision. Can't wait to return this October.

Our family loved the Discovery Tour—fun, informative, and memorable! The chocolate tour and Selva Negra nature walk were highlights, and as beach people, we especially loved the beautiful sunsets at Gran Pacifica. Touring the excellent hospital and quality shopping in Managua left us feeling reassured and confident.

Diana M. Nicaragua Discovery Tour August 2025

When I began exploring the possibility of making Nicaragua my home, I wanted to get a feel for the country and whether it was safe. The Discovery Tour was the perfect way to do it. We were very well taken care of, and the local guide was excellent. The hospital in Managua was impressive. I loved the highlands and the colonial city of Granada. The boat ride and chocolate workshops were fun. I enjoyed the leisurely meals with real conversations. Gran Pacifica is a dream, and I highly recommend adding on time there. I have since bought property and can’t wait to move. There is something truly special about Nicaragua, its beauty and its people.
